How To Play

The Basics

The game revolves around GROUP RULE and FRENEMY RULE cards. At any one time, there may only be 2 GROUP RULE cards and 1 FRENEMY RULE card in play.

Decide which game style you’d like to play DRINKS with FRENEMIES™ using the nifty decision tree below.

GAME STYLE 1

  1. Players grab their drink, tokens and the DRINKS with FRENEMIES™ deck.
  2. Distribute tokens evenly amongst all players. [Original or Explicit Edition: Distribute 15-30 tokens to each player. | NSFWRetro, Millennial or Politically Incorrect Edition: Distribute 10-20 tokens to each player.]
  3. Shuffle the DRINKS with FRENEMIES™ deck.
    A:  Deal cards face down to each player. The shuffled deck will become the Draw Pile. Players keep your hand a secret from other players. [Original or Explicit Edition: Deal 4-7 cards face down to each player. | NSFWRetro, Millennial or Politically Incorrect Edition: Deal 3-5 cards face down to each player.]
    B:  The shuffled deck will become the Draw Pile.
  4. The first player who takes a drink begins the game.
    A:  Player plays 1 card from their hand.
    B:  Player draws 1 card from the Draw Pile.
  5. Read the card out loud and follow the instructions on the card.
  6. After playing a card, place it in the appropriate pile: Frenemy Rule, Group Rule or Discard Pile.
    A:  Draw a new card from the Draw Pile to maintain the dealt number of cards in your hand.
    B:  Play proceeds to the next player.
  7. Continue with the next player until a GAME OVER card is played or until a player loses all their tokens.

GAME STYLE 2

  1. Players grab their drink and the DRINKS with FRENEMIES™ deck.
  2. Shuffle the DRINKS with FRENEMIES™ deck.
    A:  Deal cards face down to each player. The shuffled deck will become the Draw Pile. Players keep your hand a secret from other players. [Original or Explicit Edition: Deal 4-7 cards face down to each player. | NSFWRetro, Millennial or Politically Incorrect Edition: Deal 3-5 cards face down to each player.]
    B:  The shuffled deck will become the Draw Pile.

DRINKS with FRENEMIES™ is easily learned within a few minutes. You’ll spend more time playing and less time explaining how to play this game. It’s been designed to offer strategy and tactics, something most drinking games do not have.
